Vanessa Sun is a freelance chess journalist and photographer.
She has written for a variety of publications including ChessBase, Chess Life, ChessKid, and more. She led several US Chess Federation Twitter takeovers at tournaments such as the Pan-American Intercollegiate Chess Championships, All-Girl Nationals, and the U.S. Open.
Her other chess-related activities involved volunteering for the U.S. Chess School and teaching chess at The Browning School and Chess At Three. She was on the advisory board for Chess in the Schools and photographed several of their tournaments. Vanessa was also a tournament director at the Marshall Chess Club.
